If Your Dog Had One Rulebook for You, This Would Be It...

If your dog could sit you down and be completely honest…

They wouldn’t ask for more treats.

They wouldn’t ask for longer walks.

They’d ask for something simpler.

Clarity.

Right now, a lot of dogs are guessing their way through life.

Sometimes something is allowed. Sometimes it isn’t.

Sometimes commands matter. Sometimes they don’t.

That’s confusing.

If your dog had a rulebook for you, it would look like this...

👍 Mean what you say:

If you give a command, follow through. Otherwise, your dog learns it’s optional.

🐾 Be consistent:

Rules shouldn’t change depending on your mood or the situation. Consistency is what builds understanding.

🚫 Stop rewarding the wrong things:

Attention—good or bad—can reinforce behaviour. If your dog gets attention for jumping or whining, it will continue.

😃 Make it clear how to get it right:

Dogs aren’t trying to fail. But if expectations are unclear, they’ll make their own decisions.

🐶 Stay calm and structured:

Emotion doesn’t teach. Clear communication does.

🤩 Notice the good behaviour:

If you only react when things go wrong, your dog has no reason to repeat what’s right.

Most behaviour problems aren’t about stubbornness.

They come from:

  • Mixed signals

  • Inconsistent rules

  • Lack of clarity

Fix those, and everything changes.

💭 If your dog could give you one piece of advice, it would be this:

Be clear. Be consistent. Be fair.
