Want to make sure your puppies and dogs are trained in an ethical and long lasting way?
All of our tutors have completed a rigorous training programme including an accredited OCN course and they have been carefully selected based on their experience, compassion and commitment to animal welfare. We have classes throughout Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland and have new locations opening up all the time.
We run 2 types of classes indoors:
Puppy socialisation which is suitable for puppies from 2nd vaccination up to 25 weeks
Dog Training which is suitable for an adolescent, a rescued , an older or an untrained dog from 6 months.
Both classes run in 5-week blocks and last 1 hour per session once a week

All dogs will be trained using positive reinforcement and NO harsh methods.
Puppy training and socialisation are vital for a dog’s development. Positive experiences, proper socialisation and early learning will shape a dog’s life.
Early socialisation in puppies is vital as they can become more fearful from 12 weeks on. Puppies also absorb new information in training and learning and training can start from as soon as you bring your puppy home. However, you cannot start classes until after the second vaccination.
Our classes all use positive reinforcement which is scientifically proven to be the longest lasting training as well as the most ethical.
It also forms the best bond between you and your puppy.
Our qualified trainers aim to give you the best advice, with training and socialisation and other puppy problems.
The classes are well structured, with advice and training lots of exercises. The lessons are fun and relaxed and will include:
Walking on a lead, coming back when called, handling and grooming and we will cover toilet training, jumping up and play and play biting. As well as socialising with people and other puppies. There will be limited numbers at each class so that everyone gets the same learning experience and there will be class notes to help you afterwards.
Each block of classes lasts for 5 weeks at the same time/same location each week. After each class you will be emailed training notes for you to recap and practice at home.

Dont need to take our word on it on satisfied clients, have a read of some of the testimonials left after our 5 week training classes
Milo and I really enjoyed the training course. Robin and Donna were so helpful and friendly, and you could tell they had lots of experience and knowledge. They were very open to questions outside of the scope of the class and were always very encouraging. Milo went from being a very timid pup the first week to having lots of confidence around the other puppies and participating in all the teaching. We have learned a lot from the classes, and it has given us a great foundation to build on. Thank you.
When I walked in through the doorway of “Gone to the Dogs “I had a very nervous dog when I left after the 5 week course the change was noticeable There are fine points to still be worked on but the fundamentals are in place for both my dog and myself to continue with this course and the training given outside of Ballyclare But it is reassuring to know that there are 2 people who I can call on if further help is needed Many thanks to Donna and Robin for this course and all the advice given.
While we didn't have any particular issues with Paddy outside of normal puppy behaviors, there's a lot of information on the internet that can sometimes contradict itself or be difficult to understand how to apply it in person or without firsthand advice/examples or can be difficult to know where to begin with your puppy. Robin helped us find the best place to start with Paddy, show us directly what was best, and answer individualized questions for Paddy's situation very well. Paddy learned fast and we developed the best foundation for him and ourselves for future training! Absolutely worth the price and the time!
